Lady Fatima Academy commits to advance education by establishing and maintaining a religious school of instruction for Muslim children and youth that employs the Shi’a Ithna Ashari school of faith, and provides exceptional educational standards in Alberta.
Our PHILOSOPHY
At Lady Fatima Academy, the board’s philosophy of education is to combine excellence in academic and religious education, according to Alberta Education and the principles of the Shi’a Ithna Ashari school of thought, respectively. Our strategy is established based on many years of community leadership and observations, and that is to have students receive instruction in Islamic Studies, Arabic, Qur’an recitation and memorization, Salāh and remembrance of special Islamic events/holidays. Moreover, the Academy will adhere to, and even aim at exceeding, curricular outcomes set by educational jurisdictions.
The curriculum will be fully integrated with Islamic perspectives, including history, traditions and values, and students will receive daily reinforcement in Islamic personality traits and moral ethics.
The Academy will promote universally accepted values of being Influential, Nurturer, Faithful, Open-Minded, Responsible, and Moral (INFORM). The Lady Fatima Academy follows an academically inclined curriculum. However, the Academy understands children have multiple intelligences, and every student can thrive and succeed if provided with the appropriate educational tools. Thus, the Academy will strive to the best of its ability to help students actualize their potential.
